Cheap Canadian Domestic Flights

You may be wondering how WestJet's new everyday low pricing policy will impact the price of airline tickets in Canada? WestJet announced on June 17, 2010 the introduction of 'everyday value fares' which allow you to book up to 330 days in advance, without having to wait for a seat sale. Whether you purchase your WestJet airline tickets to travel in high season over Christmas, or low season in mid October, you'll get the same low price when you purchase your flights in advance while seats are still available.

Let's take a look at a few examples on how WestJet's new pricing will provide cheap domestic flights in Canada throughout the year.

Toronto - Vancouver

WestJet everyday low price - $219 oneway, plus tax
* book 7 days in advance
* valid for travel June 26, 2010 - April 30, 2011 (330 days in advance)
* valid Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays; fares are slightly higher on other days of the week
* book by 'whenever'
(this is an everyday low price, and is not a seat sale that needs to be purchased by a certain date. However, flights can sell out, and seats are subject to availability, so it's still best to book early).

Air Canada seat sale, $259 oneway, plus tax
* book 7 days in advance
* valid for travel June 26, 2010 - October 31, 2010
* valid Tuesdays and Wednesdays, fares are slightly higher on other days of the week
* book by June 24, 2010

Air Canada regular fare, $379 oneway, plus tax
* book 7 days in advance
* valid for travel November 1, 2010 - April 30, 2011
* valid Tuesdays and Wednesdays, fares are slightly higher on other days of the week

As you can see, the end of WestJet seat sales doesn't mean the end of cheap Canadian domestic flights!
